Houston Figure Skating Club Membership
The Houston Figure Skating Club, a not-for-profit organization, is the oldest of the five USFS-sanctioned skating clubs in the Houston area. Our purpose is to support the advancement of our skaters, encourage good sportsmanship, and carry out the general policies of US Figure Skating.

Club Benefits:
- Average of 40 hours of club ice per year equating to an approximate value of $300. Club ice dates, times and location can be found on our web site at www.houstonfsc.org. Club ice sessions may require a nominal ice fee, to be posted. Ice fees may be changed at any time throughout the membership year. Voting rights as noted against membership options
- Test sessions (excluding basic skills members)
- USFSA membership – full or basic depending on club membership
- Subscription to USFS Skating Magazine (excluding basic skills)
- Eligibility for competition assistance for qualifying competitions ranging from payment of entrance fee for Regionals at qualifying level through to substantial stipends for skaters advancing to Sections, Junior Nationals and Nationals. (Family & Individual only)
- Exhibitions, Critiques and Seminars - Social activities, parties, on-line news updates - Discounts on ice shows starring profession and champion skaters.
Membership Options:
- Family Includes up to two junior skaters in a family with one parent or two adult skaters in a family. Full club benefits with one voting right for adult of junior skaters or two if membership is for two adult skaters.
- Individual Skaters over 18 years of age or additional junior skater tied to an existing family membership. Full club benefits with voting rights for adult only.
- Associate Non-skating member over 18 years of age. Club benefits including voting rights, participation in club activities.
- Professional - Professional skating coach, USFS appointed judge, accountant or music official. Full club benefits including voting rights.
- Collegiate Membership Must be 18 years old plus, enrolled as an undergraduate. Club benefits include test sessions, participation in club activities, club ice privileges and voting rights.
- Non-resident Family or individual, 75+ miles from Houston. Club benefits include test sessions, participation in club activities and club ice privileges. No voting rights.
- Basic Skills - Up to two junior skaters in a family with no USFS tests passed. Membership must be upgraded to FAMILY status before USFS tests are taken. Includes five club ice sessions per year, participation in club activities, on-line news updates, and USFS BASIC SKILLS Membership. Additional fees will be charged for some HFSC activities and seminars. Fees may be applied to a FAMILY membership if upgraded during the same year.
- Second Club Family or individual that designates another USFS club as home club; additional fees may be assessed for some HFSC activities and seminars. Includes test sessions, club ice, parties and on-line news updates. No voting rights.
- Special Olympics Membership based on US Figure Skating rule book.
